With crowd sizes projected in the hundreds of thousands, spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot for the parade, which will feature almost 200 community organizations, businesses, government officials and individual community members. Cross-over streets will include Montrose Avenue, Irving Park Road, Addison Street, Grace Street, Roscoe Street and Wellington Avenue. "The extended route will include four elevated stops (Belmont, Addison, Sheridan and Wilson) for people to get to the parade, and we also added six new cross-over streets to combat crowd control issues." Starting on the corner of Broadway and Montrose in Uptown, the parade will kick off at noon on Sunday and will continue south on Broadway then south on Halstead then east on Belmont then south on Broadway then east on Diversey to Cannon Drive. "Crowds were so heavy last year that we needed to lengthen the parade route," said parade coordinator Richard Pfeiffer.
